A vacancy exists in the Bureau of Clinical Services/Division of School & Adolescent Health, Department of Health and Human Services.

of licenses, certifications, and/or education must be submitted with each application.Under general supervision, conducts hearing and vision screening tests in schools and pre-school centers.
Examples of Essential Duties
- Administers audiometric and vision screening tests, using standardized testing equipment and techniques.
- Interprets results to school nurses and other appropriate professional personnel.
- Contacts schools and pre-school centers and schedules testing duties
- Controls the orderly flow of participants to and from the testing area
- Refers for follow-up care those with suspected vision or hearing impairments.
- Documents results of screening in both the school records and the Health Department's records (including electronic medical record).
- Compiles statistics of the hearing and vision testing program.

Required QualificationsCompletion of two years of college
PlusOne year of experience providing services to children and families in a health, education, or social services setting.
(Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years. Additional education in social sciences, education, health or nursing may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.)
Licensesand
CertificatesPossession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license is required at the
time of appointment.
Proof of Licenses, Certifications and EducationApplicants are required to submit proof of licenses, certifications and education beyond high school to meet the required
qualifications of the position. Diplomas or transcripts must show the applicant's major field of study. Copies and unofficial
transcripts are acceptable.

Physical and Environmental ConditionsThe duties of this classification entail walking and some lifting and carrying of objects of moderate weight. Positions are required to travel to various testing sites located throughout the County.

screening and employment investigation, including, but not limited to criminal background, education certification and
fingerprinting checks.
