Job summary

Kinross Gold Corp is seeking a hands-on maintenance candidate near Fairbanks, AK. You will assist with pad layout, pipe fusing and pump maintenance, with experience in welding and metal fabrication.

You’ll operate equipment such as dozers and loaders and maintain safety and housekeeping at the site, complying with Kinross expectations. The role requires reading repair manuals, strong teamwork, reliability, and willingness to work holidays and weekends in an outdoor mining environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in building, site or shop maintenance/cleanup preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, skid-steers and loaders preferred.
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• Requires lifting/moving up to 50+ pounds; outdoor in varied weather.
• Willingness to work holidays and weekends.
• Ability to read/understand repair manuals; good verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of pumping and piping systems.
• Design and construct heap leach pads including road building, piping and drip tube installation.
• Welding and fabrication projects including pipe welding.
• Operate and walk around equipment; perform inspections.
• Learn to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders and dozers.
• Maintain clean and safe work area; follow safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform general ground/facility maintenance including snow removal.
