Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking an IT intern to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare IT environment. You will be exposed to programming languages, tools, architectures, security, and database systems while applying college knowledge to real projects.

During the ten-week internship you will assist with IT projects, troubleshoot software, interact with end users, gather requirements, and design solutions.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program.
• At least 6 earned college credit hours related to computer science, including at least one programming language course.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with IT projects, initiatives, and support during the ten-week internship.
• Software troubleshooting and end-user interaction.
• Analyze problems, gather requirements, and implement solutions.
• Apply SDLC concepts, data analysis, modelling, and testing in multiple technologies.
• Integrate requirements and design standards into tested software for business goals.
• Present work assignments and learning outcomes to mentors and peers.
