Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi invites qualified students to join its Innovation & Development Team for a 10-12 week IT internship at the Flowood campus. You will gain hands-on experience across cyber security, data science, healthcare technology, networking and server engineering, and software development.

Working alongside seasoned IT professionals, you’ll assist with maintaining IT systems, support security protocols, participate in system programming, and help troubleshoot end-user

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields with at least a Junior level academic standing by the end of Spring 2027.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
• Familiarity with programming languages and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and improving IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of information security protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Participate in system programming projects, including coding, debugging, and testing applications.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for end-users and internal systems.
• Collaborate with team members on IT projects, including network configuration and infrastructure upgrades.
• Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.
