Job summary

Spectral MD, Inc. is seeking a Deep Learning Data Scientist II to advance AI and ML algorithms for computer vision in healthcare.

The role focuses on developing and deploying models, maintaining data quality, and collaborating with clinical partners to translate research into practical solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in ML for CV, experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, and a track record of delivering reproducible research in cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as CS, EE, BME, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant research or professional experience in computer vision after degree.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, evaluate, and enhance machine learning and deep learning algorithms for computer vision in healthcare.
• Implement and optimize model deployment pipelines for scalable, hardware‑optimized inference.
• Apply model optimization to improve computational efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
• Maintain data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle for robust algorithm development.
• Collaborate with clinical partners and internal stakeholders to understand clinical and business needs and translate them into AI solutions.
• Independently manage assigned research and development projects from problem formulation through implementation, evaluation, and delivery.
• Ensure reproducibility of analyses and experiments through documentation, version‑controlled workflows, and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current with AI/ML, computer vision advances and evaluate their applicability to ongoing research.
• Communicate technical methods, results, and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
