Job summary

Highmark Health is offering a Summer 2027 Underwriting Undergraduate Internship to provide hands-on experience in underwriting operations, pricing analysis, and financial evaluation within a healthcare and insurance context. The program places interns on the Labor & Education Underwriting Team to work with seasoned underwriters and business professionals on both new and renewal underwriting activities.

Qualifications

Full or part‑time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Assist with pricing and risk evaluation for new and renewal business.
Support client reporting activities and data analysis.
Participate in projects to enhance underwriting tools and processes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives.
Gain exposure to underwriting decisions and their impact on growth and profitability.
Develop analytical, communication, and business skills under mentorship.
Contribute to meaningful projects involving account pricing, reporting, data analysis, and tool development.
