Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) seeks a Healthcare Instructor to develop and deliver high-quality healthcare training for CET students in a center-based setting in Washington, DC. You will manage the classroom, support curriculum development, monitor progress, and drive outcomes such as certification and workforce readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years as a Medical Assistant, plus CPR/AED.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or 3-5 years' experience as a Medical Assistant; supervisory experience
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of Medical Assistant experience; Teaching or Training background; supervisory experience
• Medical Assistant Certification; Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) Provider
• Education Program Delivery

Responsibilities

• Deliver Healthcare courses to students attending CET
• Maintain curriculum per TAC recommendations and CET mission; update curriculum as needed
• Develop and maintain program manuals with lesson plans, quizzes, and tests
• Utilize multimodal teaching methods (lecture, role-play, group work, etc.)
• Support achievement of program targets: attendance, graduation, placement, and employment retention
• Collaborate with unit teams to assess trainee needs and action plans
• Prepare explicit instructional materials for trainees
• Provide guidance and referrals to practice areas as needed
• Incorporate Basic Education (I-BEST) in classroom planning
• Co-teach with Basic Education/Mathematics instructors
• Provide one-on-one guidance on program progress and career needs
• Manage classroom and enforce discipline as needed
• Maintain trainee records in Salesforce and physical files
• Assist students with credential exam preparation
• Develop and maintain Technical Advisory Committee
• Track attendance and program statistics
• Participate in outreach to attract prospective students
• Differentiate instruction for multi-level learners
• Incorporate blended learning technologies
• Remediate certification test preparation
• Plan weekly with co-instructors
• Network in healthcare to stay current
• Facilitate instruction in hybrid environments
