Job summary

UMH Sparrow Health System in Lansing, MI is seeking a Contract Specialist to manage contracting activities for medical-surgical supplies. The role collaborates with stakeholders to drive savings, ensure pricing accuracy, and coordinate ERP activations and vendor management.

The ideal candidate will have extensive healthcare supply chain experience, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with RFP/RFI processes, plus ERP systems such as Lawson.

Qualifications

• Two-plus years of relevant healthcare supply chain knowledge preferred.
• Strong negotiation and analytics experience in contracting.
• Experience with RFP/RFI processes and local contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate processes to monitor expiring contracts.
• Identify and drive cost savings in pricing, utilization, and compliance.
• Ensure pricing accuracy through contract activations and ERP coordination.
• Support vendor management including scorecards and credentialing.
• Support value analysis with cost analysis and conversion support.
• Facilitate RFPs/RFIs, bids, and selection for local contracts.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders in GPOs.
• Provide end-user education on contracting processes and approvals.
• Analyze off-contract spend across Health System sites.
• Verify and report contract compliance and spend.
• Participate in Value Analysis Committees and other committees.
