Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Medical knowledge is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is important.
• Strong analytic, written and verbal communication skills, problem solving, and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Uses labor tracking tools and staffing matrices to prioritize safe utilization of resources.
• Receives data from work units to forecast and validate staffing needs.
• Adjusts staff coverage based on census, acuity, and bed availability; monitors admissions and bed count.
• Communicates staffing options, shifts, and shortages with staff and leadership.
• Participates in required education and maintains knowledge of tools and processes.
• Identifies staffing problems and conveys issues to leadership.
• Keeps supervisor informed of progress and issues.
• Assists with CS Department data collection and records maintenance.
• Allocates internal and external resource staff to departments.
• Coordinates with unit leadership to ensure correct scheduling.
• Notifies staff of schedule changes and maintains confidentiality.
• May assist with nursing duties when staffing priorities permit.
• Acts as subject matter expert on current labor tracking tools.
