Effinghamschools is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Accounting Manager and Controller in general accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis for a healthcare setting. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration with medical staff and other departments.

The position requires at least an Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience, with a preference for Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Education level equivalent to completion of Associate's Degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years directly related accounting/finance experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end closing journal entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare invoices and contract billing receivable reports.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets.
• Assist external auditors in year-end audits.
