Budget Accountant
Our client, a well known healthcare firm, is targeting a detail-oriented Budget Accountant resource to join a growing finance team in a highly analytical, fast‑paced healthcare environment. This role requires strong independent judgment, advanced Excel skills, and experience supporting budgeting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting and cost analyses using independent judgment
- Prepare and analyze monthly estimated contractual adjustments, charity, and bad debt
- Prepare and file Medicare and Medicaid annual cost reports and settlements
- Develop, maintain, and analyze annual operating budgets
- Prepare and file Federal, State, and Local tax returns
- Support reporting to the State COPN Regulatory Authority
- Interpret and communicate federal and state healthcare regulations
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, external consultants, and senior leadership
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines in a highly computerized environment
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Master’s Degree in a related field (preferred)
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with budgeting, analysis, and financial statements (required)
- Prior healthcare accounting/finance experience (preferred)
- Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (heavy use of pivot tables and advanced formulas)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Licenses & Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
