Job summary

Western University of Health Sciences is seeking an Assistant Director of Healthcare Simulation to oversee the Clinical Skills Lab operations, supervise staff and Standardized Patients, and collaborate on educational objectives for the Office of Healthcare Simulation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of admin experience, with a preference for Master’s degree and CAE/medical simulation experience. Some evenings and weekends may be required and the campus is in Lebanon, OR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Nursing, Health, Behavioral Sciences, or closely related discipline, or commensurate work experience.
• 2 years of administrative experience, with a minimum of 1 year in higher education, preferably in a standardized, simulated or virtual patient environment, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leading/training ability required.
• Master’s degree or enrollment in master’s program preferred.
• CAE system/Medical Simulation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Clinical Skills Lab (CSL) and supervise department personnel.
• Manage Standardized Patients and assist with relations and development of the Office of Healthcare Simulation.
• Collaborate on educational objectives and events for the Office of Healthcare Simulation/CSL.
• Provide calendar, space, resources, and logistics support for a well-run program.
• Assist in budgeting, evaluations, and other duties as assigned.
