Job summary

HDR is seeking a Healthcare Senior Design Coordinator in Columbus, OH to independently evaluate design techniques, write specifications and coordinate with owners. The role involves leading architectural tasks across phases and ensuring high-quality construction documents.

Preferred qualifications include a Master’s in Architecture and experience with healthcare facilities, LEED, and design software such as Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and Rhino.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field and professional or internship experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience preparing details, specifications and construction documents.
  • Credentials to obtain future registration are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and Autodesk Revit.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills for client exposure.
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventual registration.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques to construction documents.
  • Perform architectural assignments with general instruction from the Project Architect or Manager.
  • Work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures.
  • Write specifications and perform code reviews for architectural matters.
  • Assist project teams and take responsibility for work across all phases of the architectural process.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Healthcare Senior Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Independently evaluate, select and apply architectural techniques, procedures and modifications to architectural construction documents
  • Independently perform architectural assignments with only general instruction from the Project Architect or Project Manager regarding the expected results
  • Work directly with owners/clients to select and recommend procedures
  • Write specifications covering architectural matters and perform code reviews
  • Assist Project Architects, other Architectural Project Coordinators or Technicians as needed, and take responsibility for work in all phases of the architectural process
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
