Job summary

HDR is seeking a Healthcare Project Architect in Columbus, OH. The role supports design and delivery of health facilities, from healing spaces to research labs, collaborating with HDR’s interdisciplinary teams.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minimum of 3 years’ experience, with a Registered Architect credential and strong Revit skills. The position emphasizes sustainable design, client collaboration and project leadership within an employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Active participation in employee-owned culture is a must.
  • Master's degree in Architecture is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques and criteria with judgment for minor modifications.
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives requiring investigation of limited variables.
  • Follow instructions on assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and limited design responsibility.
  • Recommend and select procedures.
  • Write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.
  • Take responsibility for phases of revenue-producing projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Healthcare Project Architect, we'll count on you to:

  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
  • Recommend and select procedures
  • Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
  • Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, educational, civic, science and research facilities
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
