Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Security Officer to monitor premises through surveillance and officer rounds to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The role enforces policies, coordinates incident responses with the Environment of Care, and participates in educating staff. Driving may be required, and a high school diploma with a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare security or related field preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• State Driver’s license upon hire.
• Current DMV H6 report or Driving History Report.

Responsibilities

• Performs security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Security Officers’ rounds.
• Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.
• Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement.
• Follows guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care.
• Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.
• Participates in employee awareness and education.
• Driving as needed for company business.
