Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a security team member to safeguard patients, staff, and visitors at the Winchester area campus. You will perform rounds, monitor access, and respond to emergencies to maintain a safe hospital environment and improve patient experience.

The role requires a high school diploma, security experience or related coursework, valid driver’s license, AVADE certification within a year, and BLS/Heartsaver. Vaccination and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of security experience or one year toward a degree in Criminal Justice or Certified Healthcare Security Officer.
• Current Class D Driver’s License.
• AVADE certification within 1 year of hire date and yearly re-certification.
• Life Support Certification: BLS or Heartsaver.

Responsibilities

• Performs one-to-one and close observation of patients in collaboration with Patient Care Services.
• Conducts interior and exterior patrols to inspect grounds for safety hazards and activity.
• Provides one-to-one patient observation for at-risk individuals to ensure safety.
• Records and reports security and safety incidents promptly and accurately.
• Provides safety escorts upon request and enforces parking regulations.
• Investigates lost/stolen items and responds to alarms and emergency calls immediately.
• Reacts quickly to emergency codes and ensures scene safety until resolved.
• Supports shuttle services and transports bodies to the morgue when needed.
