Job summary

Sistema Technologies, a Texas-based IT staffing and delivery firm, seeks a Network Security Analyst II to support HHSC in Austin, TX. Qualifications

• 7+ years in cybersecurity or related role.
• Hands‑on with Microsoft Sentinel including incident management, analytics rules, and KQL/SPL.
• Experience using SIEM for log analysis, alert investigation, dashboards, and correlation searches.
• Experience with NDR for network traffic analysis, packet/session investigation, threat detection, and incident support.
• Experience with EDR tools including endpoint alert triage, device investigation, advanced hunting, and response actions.
• Knowledge of network security concepts: firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxy logs, DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, segmentation, secure architecture.
• Ability to analyze complex security events, correlate data across sources, and produce clear docs and recommendations.
• Knowledge of frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, HIPAA, and state requirements.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, logs, network events, endpoint telemetry, and threat feeds.
• Analyze suspicious activity, anomalous network behavior, malware indicators, endpoint detections, and SIEM alerts.
• Perform incident triage, investigation, escalation, containment, and documentation per HHSC procedures.
• Develop, tune, and maintain detection rules, dashboards, alerts, playbooks, and queries across environments.
• Support threat hunting using KQL, SPL, packet analysis, and endpoint telemetry.
