Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Durham, NC to patrol facilities, control access, and provide strong customer service in a healthcare setting.

In this Full Time role, you will perform routine and random patrols, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and document observations for leadership and site contacts. A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a healthcare location by security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, and potential hazards.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
