Job summary

MultiCare is seeking a Security Officer to join the Security Services team in Washington. You will protect MultiCare properties and facilities, ensuring safety for patients, employees and visitors, while enforcing policies and regulations.

The position requires a high school diploma, IAHSS certification (or ability to obtain within one year), and security-related experience. A valid driving record, BLS and First Aid training within 30 days are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct general security in the protection of people and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
• Deter criminal activity and misconduct utilizing tactical techniques.
• Utilize Management of Aggressive Behavior skills both verbally and physically as required.
• Apply the concepts of Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense, and Escape to effectively protect and serve facility campus.
• Utilize weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors and ensuring the removal of contraband from facility.
• Apply appropriate techniques with assistive devices when engaging with combative/aggressive individuals.
• Effectively operate/leverage required security equipment and tools.
