Job summary

Navos, part of MultiCare’s Behavioral Health Network, is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors across its facilities. This role requires the ability to enforce policies and respond to incidents with professional restraint and de‑escalation skills.

Position details include .6 FTE, day shift, with two 10-hour shifts and one 4-hour shift or three 8-hour shifts. Prior healthcare security is preferred; certifications and training are required or achievable within the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum six (6) months of security, police or military experience, preferably in a health care setting.
• IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire date.
• BLS and First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security to protect people and property and enforce policies and regulations.
• Deter criminal activity using tactical techniques.
• Use Management of Aggressive Behavior skills verbally and physically as required.
• Apply Awareness, Vigilance, Avoidance, Defense and Escape concepts to protect the facility.
• Use weapons detection devices to monitor patients/visitors and remove contraband.
• Engage with combative individuals using appropriate techniques with assistive devices.
• Operate security equipment and tools effectively.
