St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Armed Security Officer to join our Edgewood Security Team. Shift/Hours: Part Time 24 Hours, First Shift. The Armed Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, communicating professionally and applying de-escalation techniques as needed.

The role works closely with staff, local law enforcement, and other government agencies, upholding the hospital’s values of care and respect across all interactions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with applicable Criminal Justice experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree option acceptable as alternative.
• Valid driver’s license and must be insurable by the Hospital insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Directs visitors, patients and employees to appropriate location(s) and intervenes to prevent and control disturbances.
• Protecting, securing, and safeguarding all persons on SEH property.
• Provide way-finding and general assistance for patients and visitors during the course of routine security duties.
• Relate to customers with courteous, professional communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Monitor activity via closed circuit television and alarm systems; handle radio and phone communications.
• Complete case reports, maintenance logs and daily data entry in a professional manner.
• Complete mandatory and firearms-related trainings; perform other duties as assigned.
