Job summary

The Valley Hospital-Paramus is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment, control access, and support transport of personnel and supplies in the Paramus area. The role requires a high school diploma and security experience, preferably in healthcare, with NJ driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Candidates should have crisis intervention training (minimum six hours) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years' security experience preferably in health care or two years of police experience.
• New Jersey driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Minimum six hours training in Crisis Intervention.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
• Ability to interact with customers and meet their needs; work independently and in a team.
• Ability to handle interruptions, set priorities, and respond quickly to needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment and prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
• Control parking facilities and assist in transportation of personnel and/or supplies when necessary.
• Communicate with customers and staff effectively and professionally.
• Work in a security role with flexibility for shift changes and evolving workload.
