RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Security Officer for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, with duties including patrols, access control, and emergency response.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a New Jersey driver’s license, and the ability to obtain de-escalation certification within 90 days. Prior security or customer service experience is preferred, with bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Patrols interior and exterior areas to maintain safety and security.
• Monitor entrances and access control, address security concerns.
• Provide professional customer service while enforcing policies.
• Conduct weapon screenings and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in crisis de-escalation as trained.
• Complete incident reports and data entry using MS Office.
