Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, guests and staff across campus. The role enforces safety rules, conducts inspections and responds to emergencies with professionalism.

Required: High School diploma or equivalent, 1 year of security/law enforcement/military, and certifications including BLS, valid driver’s license, CPI and firearms training; IAHSS certification within 90 days; completion of FTO program within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of security, law enforcement or military experience required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association, valid driver’s license with clean DMV, CPI training required.
• IAHSS certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire/promotion.
• FTO program completion within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all safety and security rules on company property.
• Conducts routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations.
• Investigates accidents and incidents and reports findings promptly.
• Performs opening/lockdown of buildings as approved by Administration.
• Participates in emergency response and preparedness drills.
• Maintains annual certifications and training requirements.
• Adapts communication and service approach to patient populations.
• Other duties as required.
