Job summary

Amazon HealthSec is seeking a Security Engineer to defend healthcare data and guide security across Amazon HealthSec services. You will work with cross-functional teams, triage alerts, and support incident response for medical-related services.

You will collaborate with Detection and Monitoring, product teams, and executives to implement security controls, threat modeling, and secure configurations, while participating in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vulnerability reports, security alerts, and customer issues
• Work alongside our Detection and Monitoring team to triage, understand, and improve security alerts
• Perform risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities in workflows
• Advise engineering teams and stakeholders on security best practices including network security, identity management, and secure system configurations
• Collaborate with product development teams to integrate security solutions and controls
• Support security incident investigations related to infrastructure
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide ad hoc support to customers during non-business hours
• Drive security automation efforts including monitoring, triage, and alerting for key security risks
