Amazon Security's HealthSec team in Austin, TX is seeking a Security Engineer II to be the first line of defense for healthcare data. You will evaluate alerts, perform risk assessments, and work with engineering to implement secure designs and controls across healthcare services.

You’ll collaborate with detection, monitoring, and incident response teams, participate in on-call rotations, and drive security automation to strengthen monitoring, triage, and response capabilities while upholding

Qualifications

• 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
• 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
• Experience with AWS products and services
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
• Experience or understanding of HIPAA regulations

Responsabilités

• Evaluate vulnerability reports, security alerts, and customer issues
• Work alongside our Detection and Monitoring team to triage, understand, and improve security alerts
• Perform risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities in workflows
• Advise engineering teams and stakeholders on security best practices including network security, identity management, and secure system configurations
• Collaborate with product development teams to integrate security solutions and controls
• Support security incident investigations related to infrastructure
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide ad hoc support to customers during non-business hours
• Drive security automation efforts including monitoring, triage, and alerting for key security risks
