University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking personnel for cleaning and sanitation duties at UCLA West Valley Medical Center's Nutrition Department. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping and waxing floors, washing walls and fixtures, and managing trash and linen hampers with strict adherence to safety procedures.

Applicants should be able to read and write English, stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle chemicals safely.

Formación

• Ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions in English language.
• Ability to work in standing position for a long period of time, stretch, stoop, bend, climb, and reach repetitively.
• Ability to work in hot, cold and/or wet areas; lift 40 lbs and push/pull 350 lbs.
• Knowledge in the use, disposal, and labeling of chemicals used in a food service setting.
• Ability to conform to dress code and work in a non-smoking environment.
• Ability to practice safe food handling techniques.
• Ability to adjust to fluctuating work load and work schedule.
• Interpersonal skills and interact effectively with co-workers, customers, asst. managers and managers.

Responsabilidades

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip and wax floors.
• Wash walls, doors, windows, light fixtures, and discard trash.
• Clean, sanitize and relines of trash containers and linen hampers.
• Wash and steam rubber floor mats.
• Wash dishes, pans, utensils and small equipment per procedures.
• Adhere to prescribed safety and sanitation practices.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor on duty.
• Other related tasks as needed.
