Job summary

UMH Sparrow Health System seeks a Revenue Cycle Analyst-Optimization in Lansing, MI to optimize financial performance and maximize revenue opportunities. You will perform root cause analysis, identify process gaps, and drive workflow improvements across Clinical and Revenue Cycle operations.

Responsibilities include leading meetings, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with IT and payers to implement Epic changes and analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years ofHealthcare Revenue Cycle / Finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Science, Economics, Finance or related field.
• Master's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Science, Economics, Finance or related field – preferred.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Epic charging workflows, payer reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with Tableau dashboards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to lead meetings and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to translate information into SBARs and leadership-ready summaries, including presentations.

Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth root cause analysis of revenue leakage, avoidable write-offs, and performance variation, summarizing findings and recommending improvements.
• Develops mitigation strategies including workflow redesign, education, and technology-enabled solutions.
• Leads and supports initiatives to reduce avoidable write-offs across UMH Sparrow and UMH West.
• Facilitates and leads stakeholder meetings, providing high-level problem solving with revenue, compliance, and operational impacts.
• Partners with payers to address policy changes, claim processing issues, and systemic drivers of write-offs.
• Education of clinical and operational teams on workflows, payer requirements, and process improvements.
• Leverages technology and analytics tools to track performance and progress.
• Partners with Regional IT to design and implement Epic build changes and enhanced workflows.
• Translates complex data into clear insights via dashboards and leadership presentations.
• Monitors trends and variances to proactively identify revenue risk and opportunities.
• Serves as senior analytical resource and escalation point for complex reporting.
• Participates in regional and systemwide initiatives by providing analytical expertise.
• Mentors Analyst I and II staff in reporting standards and best practices.
