Job summary

WhiteCap Search is seeking a Counsel, Healthcare Regulatory, to advise the corporate team and affiliated practices on healthcare regulatory matters and contracting. The role reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel and focuses on translating federal and state frameworks into practical operations.

You will structure arrangements to fit safe harbors, review and negotiate contracts, and provide hands-on guidance on HIPAA, licensure, and regulatory compliance across multiple states.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant healthcare regulatory experience in a law firm or corporate setting.
• Working knowledge of the federal Anti‑Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, and related state laws.
• Experience advising on HIPAA and health information privacy and security requirements.
• Familiarity with professional and facility licensure, scope of practice, and corporate practice issues.
• Significant experience drafting and negotiating healthcare and general commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Advise on healthcare regulatory matters, including AKS, Stark Law, False Claims Act, and state laws.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate physician employment and vendor agreements and MSAs.
• Provide HIPAA and privacy guidance across the network.
• Counsel on licensure, scope of practice, CPOM, and fee-splitting restrictions.
• Develop policies, playbooks, and training from regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with Compliance on internal reviews and inquiries.
• Support responses to payor and government inquiries as requested.
• Manage projects and mentor junior counsel.
