Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a security supervisor to oversee frontline security and Public Safety staff, coordinating routine and emergency activities under policy and management supervision.

The role emphasizes de-escalation of critical events, safe engagement with escalated subjects, and acting as a first responder to emergencies within the facility, while supervising junior officers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• GED required.
• 4 years general security/public safety experience required; 2 years in a related role with firearm carry.
• DL Number (Driver License) valid in state and compliance with vehicle safety policy.
• IAHSS Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor within 1 year.
• Carry firearms, non-lethal weapons (Taser) and baton as required.
• Pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Maintain training incl. firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid and others as directed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee frontline security and Public Safety staff and functions.
• Coordinate routine and emergency security activities per policy.
• Enforce Piedmont regulations and state/fed laws.
• Advocate crime prevention and a secure work environment.
• De-escalate critical events with sound judgment during engagements.
• Respond as first responder to emergencies within the facility.
• Supervise and develop junior officers.
