Job summary

HMC Architects in Los Angeles is seeking a Project Architect/Technical Manager for healthcare facilities. You will lead design development, coordinate with consultants, and ensure code compliance through construction documents.

The role requires a California license, 7+ years experience, and strong coordination skills. This is a non-exempt, hybrid position based in LA with flexible hours and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (or related field).
• Active California Architectural License (required for Project Architect).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with demonstrated proficiency across all architectural phases.
• Strong experience in construction documentation, coordination, and quality control.
• Ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and provide performance feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and coordination of projects from design development through construction documentation.
• Resolve technical, code, and agency approval issues across all project phases.
• Supervise and manage project teams (up to four staff members) with feedback and evaluations.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Review documents for quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
• Participate in proposals, interviews, and occasional marketing efforts.
