Job summary

Houston City College seeks a dedicated CE Instructor I to support college curriculum and Continuing Education programs. You will design and teach courses for healthcare professionals, supporting competency development and credential maintenance through diverse instructional methods.

Responsibilities include teaching theory and clinical skills, advising students, and participating in program development and staff development activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months’ work experience in related health care field.
• Current industry licensure/certification related to course content being taught may also be required.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses at the designated time and location, including theory and clinical skills.
• Oversee and assist students and use department-approved materials.
• Maintain required class attendance and grades records.
• Distribute certificates of completion and meet with students for recommendations.
• Participate in curriculum development and attend required meetings.
• Consult with Director about academic or discipline-related issues in the classroom.
• Review student evaluation forms and classroom observation forms with Director.
• Use departmental equipment responsibly and maintain licensure/certification.
• Assist with program marketing, outreach, and auxiliary tasks as needed.
