Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Plumber to work with the Director of Plant Operations, Facility Manager, and Maintenance Team to maintain backflow preventers and oversee the preventive maintenance program.

The role covers basic plumbing tasks from faucet replacements to mainline drain augers in a hospital setting. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm, with occasional on-call rotations for projects and emergencies.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of plumbing maintenance, installation, or repair experience.
• Healthcare, commercial, or industrial plumbing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, medical gas piping, and other facility plumbing components.
• Troubleshoots plumbing issues, diagnosing and repairing leaks, clogs, pipe breaks, and malfunctioning fixtures.
• Performs preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment, ensuring proper operation and compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
• Reads blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan plumbing installations and modifications.
• Monitors and maintains medical gas distribution systems, ensuring proper function and adherence to healthcare safety regulations.
• Responds promptly to emergency plumbing calls, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations and patient care.
