Job summary

UNC Lenoir Health Care seeks an Engineering Operations Manager to lead the Plant Engineering department in a hospital setting. You will direct maintenance staff, coordinate vendor contracts, and oversee safety and compliance programs, with a focus on PM/CMMS systems.

Responsibilities include budget development, dashboards on work orders and life safety, coaching staff, and ensuring quality and timely repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience or training in facilities maintenance or engineering.
• 5+ years in managing maintenance personnel in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance, CMMS, Life Safety Code, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing maintenance and operation; Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the Maintenance Department under the Director of Engineering.
• Assign and direct daily maintenance staff tasks and coordinate with contract service vendors.
• Ensure safety compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations and maintain documentation.
• Develop and monitor facilities budgets and capital equipment replacement plans.
