Work schedule Monday–Friday, 8-5 or as determined by supervisor. Primary duties include interpreting EOBs, posting payments and adjustments, balancing batches, and routing claims for secondary review.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience processing medical charges and working with insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs).

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance explanation of benefits from carriers.
• Determine processing requirements for payments and adjustments.
• Enter insurance payments and adjustments to patients' accounts accurately.
• Post personal payments to patients' accounts in a timely manner.
• Identify incorrectly processed EOBs and route for claim review.
• Balance all batches keyed.
• Process claims forwarded to secondary for review.
• Maintain responsibility for business office petty cash.
• Cross-train and provide backup for other business office functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
