Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Columbus seeks a paralegal for the Healthcare Department and Healthcare Industry Practice. This full-time position offers exposure to regulatory, corporate, and transactional matters in a fast-paced Am Law 100 environment.

The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certificate and/or a bachelor’s degree, strong organizational skills, and the ability to support sophisticated clients across healthcare projects.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate and/or a bachelor’s degree from a highly regarded academic institution.
• Excellent academic credentials and a strong work ethic.
• Superior organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with legal document management systems.
• Comfortable with using AI tools such as Harvey and Copilot
• Relevant paralegal or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing healthcare regulatory applications (operating licenses, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.), for both new initiatives and change of ownership transactions.
• Preparing corporate filings with Secretaries of State and other governmental agencies.
• Conducting preliminary legal or business research on corporate, regulatory, or procedural matters.
• Collecting and organizing documents for due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, financings, or corporate reorganizations.
• Preparing, overseeing, and managing transactional documents.
• Overseeing and coordinating transaction closings, including managing execution of closing documents and related planning.
• Maintaining accurate and organized records of completed transactions.
• Communicating with clients, firm attorneys, opposing counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Supporting special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
