Barnes & Thornburg LLP in Indianapolis seeks a paralegal for the Healthcare Department and Healthcare Industry Practice to support complex regulatory, corporate, and transactional matters in a fast-paced Am Law 100 environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and writing skills, comfort with regulatory work, and the ability to manage multiple matters while coordinating with clients, attorneys, and outside counsel.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate and/or a bachelor’s degree from a highly regarded academic institution.
• Excellent academic credentials and a strong work ethic.
• Superior organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with legal document management systems.
• Comfortable with using AI tools such as Harvey and Copilot
• Relevant paralegal or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing healthcare regulatory applications (operating licenses, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.), for both new initiatives and change of ownership transactions.
• Preparing corporate filings with Secretaries of State and other governmental agencies.
• Conducting preliminary legal or business research on corporate, regulatory, or procedural matters.
• Collecting and organizing documents for due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, financings, or corporate reorganizations.
• Preparing, overseeing, and managing transactional documents.
• Overseeing and coordinating transaction closings, including managing execution of closing documents and related planning.
• Maintaining accurate and organized records of completed transactions.
• Communicating with clients, firm attorneys, opposing counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Supporting special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
