Job summary

Cook County Government seeks an Associate Chief Medical Officer of Logistics and Administration to partner with the CMO and executive leadership to advance workforce, transformation, growth, and fiscal resilience. The ACMO drives day-to-day clinical operations, including throughput, resource utilization, transition of care, and productivity across Cook County Health settings.

This role requires medical board eligibility or certification, Illinois medical license, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Medical license in Illinois prior to starting employment.
• Must be cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services at start of employment.
• Board eligibility or certification in medical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Leads hospital-wide policy development and oversight of throughput and transitions of care.
• Participates in the CCH Policy Committee and coordinates medical activities.
• Ensures appropriate medical staffing to support safe patient care and trainee supervision.
• Assists the CMO with budgeting, contract management, and financial oversight.
• Acts as liaison to department chairs on workforce management, budget and operations when the CMO is unavailable.
