Job summary

NHC HealthCare Somerville in Somerville, TN is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at a 78-bed post-acute facility. The ideal candidate will read and interpret technical manuals and have knowledge of local codes and safety regulations.

Responsibilities include keeping records of work and costs, coordinating maintenance with other departments to avoid interrupting patient care, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school or technical school graduate required.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Knowledge of local codes, safety regulations.
• Ability to plan and carry out repair/new construction and/or installation.
• Knowledge of record keeping and cost estimating.
• HVAC experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keep records of work performed and costs involved.
• Coordinate maintenance department activities with other departments to avoid interrupting patient care.
• Advise and consult with Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance and repair needs for structure, equipment and grounds.
• Communicate effectively with partners, residents and family members.
• Be willing to perform on-call duties for after-hours service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator.
