Job summary

NHC HealthCare Milan in Milan, TN is seeking a dependable Full-Time Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility safe, clean, and welcoming for patients and visitors. You will assist with building, equipment, and grounds maintenance, perform routine repairs, and help coordinate activities with other departments to minimize disruption to patient care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or technical training, basic manual-reading ability, and the stamina to handle physical maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or technical school education preferred.
• HVAC experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand basic technical manuals and instructions.
• Basic knowledge of safety practices and regulations.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, professional, and able to interact respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
• Must be able to perform the physical duties associated with maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general building, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Assist with light grounds care, cleaning, and upkeep of the property.
• Inspect property and equipment for safety concerns and report needed repairs.
• Help maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems as appropriate to experience and training.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to help minimize disruption to patient care.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and incoming or outgoing freight as needed.
• Properly use and care for maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as directed.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Education

High school diploma / GED / technical school

HVAC experience

Ability to read basic manuals
