Job summary

The Health Center at Standifer Place is seeking an Assistant Director of Maintenance to act as a working manager supporting the Director in maintaining a safe, functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The role combines hands-on maintenance with department coordination, survey documentation, and after-hours response.

Qualifications

• Relevant maintenance experience and practical knowledge of building systems and repairs required.
• Supervisory and healthcare facility experience preferred.
• Must be organized, dependable, able to use computer-based maintenance systems, and able to communicate effectively with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• TELS implementation and oversight. Lead setup and ongoing use of TELS, including records and PM schedules.
• Survey documentation and recordkeeping. Maintain books and electronic records for state/federal surveys and life safety docs.
• After-hours first-call coverage. Serve as first contact after hours, coordinate on-site response and notify Director.
• Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, building upkeep).
• Inspect buildings and equipment; troubleshoot and address unsafe conditions.
• Assist with assigning and prioritizing work, guiding maintenance staff, coordinating vendors.
