Job summary

Forefront is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards while upholding safety and quality. You will assist in all preparation, help deliver and take orders as needed, and may be guided by the Chef Manager or Director.

This role emphasizes adherence to policies, accurate portioning, and proper food handling. The successful candidate will follow standardized recipes, monitor temperatures, and ensure meals meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Follows health and sanitation regulations in food preparation.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and portioning.
• Maintains and records daily production and waste logs.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized recipes, portioning, menu extensions, and presentation standards.
• Complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Taste completed meals to ensure quality standards.
• Monitor temperatures of hot and cold foods to meet established goals.
• Inspect food products and supplies upon delivery in the absence of supervisors.
• Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products.
• Notify Chef Manager or Director of supplies or equipment needs.
• Report equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to management.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and audit standards.
• Perform other department duties as assigned by the Chef Manager/Director.
• Adhere to policies including HIPAA, confidentiality, and safety regulations.
• Attend department meetings as required.
• Demonstrate accountability for personal/professional growth and required certifications/licenses.
• Complete mandatory training and competencies annually.
