Job summary

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children in Bayside, NY is seeking a part-time Utility Assistant to maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas. You will sanitize dishes, assist with meal service, and support daily operations in accordance with sanitation schedules and procedures.

Responsibilities include temperature logging, stock and supply handling, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines while supporting the hospital’s mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food Service sanitation experience preferred.
• Ability to follow sanitation guidelines and department policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas in compliance with sanitation guidelines.
• Demonstrates competency using the dishwashing machine and pot washing tasks.
• Logs dishwasher temperatures (wash, rinse) per shift and reports improper temps.
• Records sanitizing solution levels and ensures proper 3-compartment sink hygiene.
• Cleans and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, and related kitchen items.
• Performs routine cleaning of food prep areas, floors, and storage spaces.
