Job summary

Forefront in Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated hospital kitchen Cook to prepare meals in a healthcare setting, following recipes, portioning, and safety standards.

You will monitor temperatures, ensure quality, assist with meal orders, maintain sanitation, and support the Chef Manager and Director as needed. This is a full-time role with benefits, on-the-job training, and opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing meals for healthcare or large facility settings.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to monitor temperatures and ensure quality across service periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to standardized recipes and portioning standards.
• Assist with menu extensions and presentation to meet quality goals.
• Complete daily production worksheets and waste logs.
• Taste meals to ensure quality standards before service.
• Monitor hot and cold food temperatures and maintain goals.
• Inspect delivered ingredients and assist with storage.
• Notify supervisor of supplies or equipment needs.
• Report any equipment breakdowns or unsafe conditions.
• Comply with health, safety, and confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA.
• Attend required department meetings and training annually.
