Qualifications

• Basic food and culinary terms, cooking methods pertaining to food preparation.
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
• Ability to complete basic mathematical problems.
• Knowledge of modified diet food preparation.
• Knife skills and small tool handling.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food according to customer or patient requests following approved organization procedures.
• Coordinates timing of preparation in order to meet service schedules for patients and staff.
• Adheres to standardization of recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control cost.
• Practices and adheres to safety guidelines from the State Department of Health.
• Washes dishes including pots and pans.
• Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
