Job summary

Zinnia Health is seeking a Kitchen Aide to support our culinary team in preparing nutritious meals for residents. You will assist with food prep, kitchen maintenance, and ensure health and safety standards are met in a supportive environment for individuals in recovery.

Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking assistance, cleaning, inventory management, and meal service. Prioritize resident dietary needs and collaborate with staff to ensure a smooth operation while upholding our values

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and handle kitchen equipment safely.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy items, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Food Handler’s Certificate or ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Compassionate and understanding towards individuals in recovery, with a non-judgmental attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Communication in English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation support, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
• Assist culinary team with cooking tasks and equipment operation.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation practices.
• Assist with receiving and storing food supplies and stock rotation.
• Help plate and serve meals to residents according to dietary needs.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards and proper food handling.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and other facility teams for smooth operations.
• Provide positive, supportive interactions with residents.
