Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of IT workstreams for the Helen Diller Hospital project. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risks while ensuring regulatory and patient-safety requirements are met.

The role requires collaboration across IT, construction, and clinical leadership to deliver fully integrated IT solutions that support the hospital’s readiness and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
• 5+ years relevant experience.
• Requires basic knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.
• Requires the ability to assess campus, medical center, or Office of the President needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs.
• Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
• Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.
• Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.
• Demonstrated effective writing skills.
• Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.
• Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.
• Proven leadership ability. Effective problem-solving skills.
• Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress. Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of IT workstreams for the Helen Diller Hospital project across clinical applications, infrastructure, and end-user systems.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies; facilitate decisions between IT, construction, and clinical leadership.
• Ensure regulatory, security, and patient safety requirements are met and that the project aligns with hospital readiness and strategic goals.
• Oversee project initiation through delivery, including system integration, communications, vendor interactions, and risk management.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to test opportunities and design for seamless operations in both hospital and post-procedure care contexts.
