Job summary

Humata Health is seeking a technically proficient Solutions Engineer to lead end-to-end integration delivery and provide expert support to customer IT and EMR teams. This remote role supports EDI, API, and file-based data exchanges with HIPAA-compliant security practices.

You will design data mappings, manage VPNs, and troubleshoot integrations while collaborating with engineering to build reusable frameworks. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical field.
• 5–7+ years of hands-on integration engineering, with direct ownership of EDI and API implementations in a healthcare environment.
• Deep expertise with EDI X12 standards: 278R transactions, 275 Attachments, service-type codes and data flow.
• Advanced SQL proficiency (CTEs, window functions, ETL data validation workflows).
• Hands-on experience with interface engines (Mirth Connect preferred).
• Expert with REST API protocols (OAuth2, API keys) and schema validation (JSON/XML).
• Familiarity with HIPAA/HITRUST and data privacy/security compliance.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and deployment of integrations: 278R, 275, REST APIs, and file-based (SFTP).
• Design, build, and optimize data mapping schemas between customer systems and Humata Health platforms.
• Manage B2B VPN tunnels, IP whitelisting, and security credential provisioning (SSL, mutual TLS).
• Payload-level debugging of JSON, XML, and EDI data using Postman, Insomnia, and EDI Notepad.
• Create SQL scripts for data migration pre-validation and post-migration audits; conduct integrity checks.
• Develop automated test scripts for integration validation (Postman/Newman).
• Monitor production data flows with alerts for timeouts and schema issues.
• Document architecture diagrams, data flows, API schemas, and authentication schemes.
• Serve as technical SME for customer IT teams and collaborate with engineering on reusable frameworks.
