St. Louis Community College invites applications for a Part-time Instructor to deliver course material for the Patient Care Technician program.

Instruction includes lectures and skills labs, Monday through Friday 8:00am–4:30pm, with flexible hours from 8 to 30 per week across multiple locations (Corporate College, Forest Park, Florissant Valley, Harrison Education Center). The instructor will prepare materials, deliver active learning, and support student success; required RN license, 5+ years

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing with the state board.
• 5+ years experience in an acute clinical healthcare setting.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office; knowledge of LMS.

Position Summary

Workforce Solutions Group (WSG) division is in need of a Part-time Instructor to instruct course material related to the Patient Care Technician healthcare training program. Instructional hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm and include lecture and skills lab instruction. Instructors hours are flexible and can vary from 8 hours to 30 hours weekly. Training occurs at all locations including Corporate College, Forest Park, Florissant Valley and William J. Harrison Education Center.

Primary Duties Performed

Prepares materials for delivery in the patient care technician program under the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services Unlicensed Assistive Personnel requirements. May customize materials to meet the identified performance needs of the clients (clients include regional healthcare systems with acute care settings). Delivers active learning instruction in a classroom setting. Interacts with students to address real work problems using adult teaching methods. Additional deliverables include, but are not limited to, development of course materials, clinical skills lab instruction, and attendance in student and client meetings.

Qualifications/Experience

• Associate degree or higher in Nursing (RN)


• Must have a current RN license and be in good standing with the state board of nursing.


• 5+ years experience working in an acute, clinical healthcare setting.

Working Conditions
