Job summary

The University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine invites a skilled project manager to oversee two federal health services research grants, focusing on pragmatic implementation trials across Michigan hospital sites to improve the value of care and reduce low-value treatments.

You will partner with PIs and stakeholders, manage budgets, coordinate IRB processes, and guide network-wide implementation and evaluation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management or grants/health services research leadership experience.
• 2+ years working with physician faculty, either in clinical operations or health services research.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with competing tasks and priorities.
• Strong collaboration, active listening, interpersonal communication, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Experience with research methods or academic research processes (protocol development, surveys, qualitative interviews, peer-reviewed publications).

Responsibilities

• Lead project management tasks: administration, quality improvement/implementation coaching, and support.
• Facilitate multi-disciplinary team meetings to advance implementation and research activities.
• Direct communication across PIs, investigators, analytics staff, and partners.
• Develop, review, and submit all deliverables with very high standards.
• Lead grant reporting, budget management, and funder communications.
• Produce reports, summaries, charts, and coordination tools; track progress with team.
• Lead IRB submissions and approvals with team support.
• Lead or assist qualitative interviews and other research activities.
• Coordinate development of collaborative academic products and potential publications.

Education

Master's degree in healthcare / public health / analytic field
